Independent Living Resource Centre

The Independent Living Resource Centre (ILRC), with the support of Western Economic
Diversification Canada, offers this program to urban entrepreneurs with disabilities.

ILRC provides:

  • peer support and networking opportunities
  • one-on-one consulting to develop a business idea
  • referral to other programs and services
  • business development resource library
  • introductory workshops and seminars
  • access to training in small business management
  • assistance in preparing and evaluating business plans
  • contact information for external business plan funding agencies
  • one-on-one consulting to assist with finding necessary supports
  • follow-up consulting services after the business has been established

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • have a disability due to physical or mental impairment
  • have a business idea or want to expand a business
  • willing to produce a sound written business plan
  • willing to take any necessary business management training

A limited number of participants will be selected for this project, with special consideration given to individuals facing multiple barriers.
